Sold cb230 polished pyrite Ammonite Sculpture

Something different, this piece was inspired by ripples in the sand
that you see as the tide retreats leaving its sea treasures behind in its wake, a once living
creature one of many ancient shells washed up on a equally ancient shore hopefully brought
back to life in a way that it shows it laid in a stoney fossilised piece of seabed the ripples
mimicking its timeless form, hope you agree.

These Stunning objects don't come up for sale very often, only a few of this quality
are found each year and not every one that is discovered contains an Ammonite.
The process needed to polish the Iron Pyrite on the outside of these nodules is a
very time consuming process involving several grinding and polishing stages to
achieve such a high lustre, the Ammonite has to be prepared also which is a task
in its self having to break through the tough Pyrite to revel the treasure hidden within.
A truly beautiful gift idea or simply to have as a item of natural art or as a conversation
piece around the home or office.
