Sold cb232 polished pyrite Ammonite Sculpture

Something different, this piece was inspired by the cruves of the waves that form
the ripples on a beach, not crashing waves causing chaos but gentle waves forming beautiful
uniform patterns in the sand, this represents the moment these creatures are coming to rest
momenterally before they are moved along with the endless motion of the sea.

These Stunning objects don't come up for sale very often, only a few of this quality
are found each year and not every one that is discovered contains an Ammonite.
The process needed to polish the Iron Pyrite on the outside of these nodules is a
very time consuming process involving several grinding and polishing stages to
achieve such a high lustre, the Ammonite has to be prepared also which is a task
in its self having to break through the tough Pyrite to revel the treasure hidden within.
A truly beautiful gift idea or simply to have as a item of natural art or as a conversation
piece around the home or office.
